i moved up to a ram air version from an honda sl 125.we found a way to increase top end speed by putting in different plugs(b8 or b9`s).my mate aand i made it from dewsbury to bridlington in an incredible 45 mins(he had gt 250a which wasa little faster top end)and left a bank of two stroke fog in our wake
going down a slight incline two up on the motorway i had 108 on the clock, the z 250 scorpion i replaced it with never reached these highs

i bought a second hand gt 250b in about 1988.i did some very radical porting and tuning with microns off a lc 350 put on it. i kept the standadrd 28mm carbs.it would rev past the high beam indicator on the tacho, probably around 13000rpm. real power came in at 7-8000 rpm till about 11-12000 rpm. handling was very dangerous over 90 mph, needed longer swinging arm,my mate stole it whilst i was in prison and blew it up from overrevving and missing gears-plonker. sold it on,pj

Hah! - Good Memories. Loved mine too, but it was a GT250A. Owned it for 4 years and had some great times on it. Last 2-stroke I owned was an RD400, but the the GT250 was a nice bike.
